The 40-yr-old guitarist accomplished the feat on 23 May with the help of a group of volunteers, raising £35,000 for an orphanage in Nepal. Bayldon and his team were felicitated by Nepal Tourism Board on Tuesday for helping promote tourism in Nepal by successfully performing on top of the peak.

Bayldon and the team trekked across the Himalayas to reclaim the record he originally set in 2005. After losing the title to a group of Germans in Bolivia, Bayldon had embarked once again to Mera Peak set for the highest gig earlier this month.
